Our development project was recently featured in Montreal A to V, a CBC series that explores the stories and transformations shaping each of Montreal’s 19 boroughs. Quartier des Lumières embodies the very spirit of the series: understanding the past to help shape the future.

A Lost Memory, a Neighborhood Reimagined

In the 1960s, the working-class district of Faubourg à m’lasse was demolished to make way for the Maison de Radio-Canada — taking with it a vibrant piece of Montreal’s social fabric. Often considered a historical misstep, the destruction of the neighborhood left behind both an urban and emotional void. Today, we aim to make a powerful symbolic gesture by rebuilding a livable, human-scale neighborhood rooted in history and community.

A Vision for the Future

Designed as a mixed-use district, Quartier des Lumières will include housing, workspaces, local shops, and public spaces — all thoughtfully planned to support vibrant community life. This inclusive urban vision prioritizes sustainability, active transportation, and cultural heritage.
