Welcome to the Quartier des lumières!

An extension of the downtown district, the Quartier des lumières is located at the heart of a dynamic area undergoing major redevelopment. The vast site, occupied for more than 60 years by the iconic Radio-Canada tower, will regain its original vocation: an inclusive, unique, vibrant and lively neighborhood.

The fruit of an innovative vision, the real estate complex, whose master plan is based on the best practices of sustainable development, will prioritize a high quality of life and inclusiveness. Housing, shops, and services will surround the completely renovated tower, creating a complete living environment surrounded by green spaces, pedestrian promenades, and lively squares. Just a few steps from all amenities!

Less than 900 m from the Quartier des spectacles and Quai de l'Horloge in Old Montreal, and within walking distance of two metro stations, numerous bus routes and several bicycle paths.

LEED-ND

Quartier des lumières is being designed with the intention to achieve LEED-ND (Neighborhood Development) Platinum certification as a whole. This program is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED-ND’s standards collectively identify whether a development can be deemed environmentally superior in light of the development’s location and access, its internal pattern and design, and its use of green technology and building techniques. Our LEED-ND neighborhood will have many of the hallmarks of traditional communities: parks and playgrounds, prominent civic buildings, and a variety of stores and commercial activity, among other elements.

Fitwel(R)

Quartier des lumières will be one of only nine neighbourhoods in the world to lay the groundwork for a new international Fitwel(R) Community certification and will be the first Canadian site in the pilot project, which is administered by the Center for Active Design (CFAD) in New York, NY. The new Fitwel(R) Community standard is unique in promoting planning strategies with positive health impacts in seven distinct categories: increasing physical activity, promoting occupant safety, reducing illness and absenteeism, promoting social equity for vulnerable populations, fostering feelings of well-being and improving community health and access to healthy food.

C40 Cities

The development team behind Quartier des lumières is delighted to bring this project to life in Montréal, one of just 94 global cities designated as C40 cities. All have committed to taking bold climate action, leading the way towards a healthier and more sustainable future. Our mission is to help Montréal live up to its commitment to deliver on the most ambitious goals of the Paris Agreement at the local level and clean the air we breathe.
