As we begin the year, we’d like to share the latest updates on the site and the upcoming milestones.

A TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS

The Quartier des lumières is entering a crucial phase: construction work is intensifying, marking a new stage in a project that will shape an inclusive, sustainable, and dynamic living environment. MACH is laying the foundations for an innovative, human-centered neighborhood, where housing, retail spaces, green areas, and modern infrastructure will coexist harmoniously.

This past Fall, we focused on preparing the site: installing hoardings, cleaning the land, and securing the perimeter.

In January, we proceeded with the decommissioning of devices and electromechanical equipment, followed by asbestos removal and architectural demolition.

Demolition of the existing structure and excavation: a key phase to prepare the site for future construction.
Start of controlled backfilling to stabilize the ground and prepare the foundations.
Beginning of the construction of the first block dedicated to social housing.

COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

The decision to begin with the construction of the social housing block is driven by the urgent need to address the housing shortage and the demand for affordable living spaces. This approach ensures a high-quality living environment for residents while integrating seamlessly into the overall site development. By prioritizing this initiative, we demonstrate our commitment to an inclusive and sustainable community.

MACH is dedicated to minimizing the impact of the construction on the local community and the environment. Measures are in place to ensure safety, reduce noise and dust,   and promote environmentally-friendly construction practices. We would like to remind you of our community service, available 24/7by phone at 514-657-2111 or by email at contact@qdl.dev.
